GBR wouldn't be what it is without artist interaction. Here are some guidelines to making things easy for your listeners.

Fill out track information/ID3 tags: A track isn't finished until it has this information:
  • Artist
  • Title
  • Album
  • Genre
  • Year
  • Comments (Put web/label address here)
  • Cover Art
Files should be in .mp3 format. It's a good idea to offer high quality files (FLAC or WAV) as options on your download page.

Distribution is up to you. The goal is to make it easy for people to hear your sounds. Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, etc. are all great. Bandcamp is simple, clean and it looks like a finished product.

Some artists post their music to Internet Archive, if they want to distribute their music for free. (

Mediafire, Drop Box and other online storage is fine, but try not to use a service that slows downloads for those who aren't members.

You can also send tracks via email.

[Artists and production methods vary wildly. I edit every track I put into rotation in an attempt to normalize overall volume for the radio. I'll also add fade-in or fade-out as necessary. This helps with the flow of music in rotation. I convert all files to mp3 @ 128kbps, the max the server allows.]
